Tryouts for 2021 Lakewood Travel Baseball Season
The LCBA Lakewood Travel program is open to players interested in developing baseball skills and playing games at a level above the Lakewood Recreation Program. Teams play against neighboring communities through the Cuyahoga Valley Baseball Association or Puritas Baseball League from late April through Mid July. Practices begin indoors during in winter and early spring prior to the season.
Registration costs are determined in September for players that roster on a team (about $325) and cover equipment, league fees and full uniform. Read our FAQ for more information.
Tryouts will be conducted by the Lakewood High Baseball Coaching Staff and are for players interested in playing in the 2021 season for teams 8U through 14U. Cut off birthday date for all age groups is May 1st 2021. Example: your player must be 10 or younger as of May 1st 2021 to try out for the 10U teams.
Players will run through the following stations for try outs:
- Sprints
- Ground Balls and Throws
- Fly Balls and Throws
- Pitching
- Catching
- Hitting
Players must bring:
- Your own water
- Mask for off the field
- Ball hat, cleats, glove, your own bat, your own batting helmet
Tryout Sessions
NOTE: Players Only Need to Attend One Tryout Session
All tryout sessions are held at the Lakewood High School Field. Arrive 30 minutes before your time and enter the up the ramp behind the press box from parking lot north of the baseball field.
Age is determined by the age of the player on May 1st 2021 (ie. if the player is 12 years old on May 1st, 2021 but turns 13 on May 2nd then the player is still 12U for the 2021 season).
Tryout One - Saturday, August 22nd 2020
- 12:00 to 12:30 - 8U (Age 8 years old or under on May 1st 2021)
- 12:30 to 1:00 - 9U and 10U
- 1:00 to 1:30 - 11U and 12U
- 1:30 to 2:00 - 13U and 14U
Tryout Two - Sunday, August 23rd 2020
- 12:00 to 12:30 - 8U (Age 8 years old or under on May 1st 2021)
- 12:30 to 1:00 - 9U and 10U
- 1:00 to 1:30 - 11U and 12U
- 1:30 to 2:00 - 13U and 14U

If you are not able to attend during this time, you must contact Coach Ribar and schedule a date prior to August 28th, 2020.
Team rosters or an additional age group tryout will be decided by September 30th.
